To celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Liberation of Southern Vietnam and the reunification of the country (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2015), Hanoi will hold high-altitude fireworks displays at five locations from 9 PM to 9:15 PM on April 30.

On the evening of April 30th, Hanoi will have high-altitude fireworks displays at 5 locations.

This information was provided by Mr. Nguyen Quoc Chiem, Deputy Director of the Hanoi Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, at a press briefing organized by the Hanoi City Party Committee on the afternoon of April 7th.

The five high-altitude fireworks display locations include: Hoan Kiem Lake (with two firing sites in front of the Hanoi Post Office and in front of the Hanoi Moi newspaper headquarters); Thong Nhat Park, Hai Ba Trung District; Van Quan Lake, Ha Dong District; My Dinh National Stadium, Nam Tu Liem District; and Son Tay town's flower garden. The funding for the fireworks display will be provided through private sector contributions.

In addition, Hanoi city also organized many activities to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and the reunification of the country, and to celebrate the 125th anniversary of the birth of President Ho Chi Minh (May 19, 1890 - May 19, 2015). These included visual propaganda using banners, billboards, and posters on the streets; coordinating with Ho Chi Minh City Television to organize a live televised program commemorating the 40th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and the reunification of the country on the evening of April 11th, with the broadcast point at the Vietnam Military History Museum; coordinating the organization of the national cycling race for the Ho Chi Minh City Television Cup, which opened at 7:00 AM on April 11th at the Ly Thai To Monument; and organizing cultural, artistic, and sports performances at Ly Thai To flower garden and the Ha Dong District Center.

The city also organized a national-level celebration of the 125th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birth on May 18th at the My Dinh National Convention Center; held art and sports programs praising the Party and President Ho Chi Minh at the August Revolution Square and the center of Ha Dong district on the evening of May 18th; organized art and sports performances on the evening of May 17th at the Ly Thai To Monument flower garden; held a seminar and discussion on "Learning and following the moral example of Ho Chi Minh" and a thematic photo exhibition about President Ho Chi Minh at the Hanoi Museum…/.
