Tom Cruise closes out the summer movie season with eye-catching action scenes
The new episode of "Mission Impossible" proves that at the age of 53, the actor is still charming and leaves an impression when playing a spy role that has been on the silver screen for nearly 20 years.
Since Mission Impossible was released in 1996, the world's movie-loving public has used the catchphrase "Like Tom Cruise" to refer to his adventurous actions in real life. The actor born in 1962 is a rare actor in Hollywood who has built his class and style through death-defying action scenes, set in the most difficult and complicated situations. In the new episode - Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation, the actor still maintains his style even though his appearance has somewhat lost the youthfulness and innocence of his twenties.

Right at the beginning of the film, viewers are drawn into the scene where Tom Cruise and his teammates try to stop a plot to transport chemical weapons using an Airbus A400M Atlas. As the plane is taking off on the runway, Tom Cruise recklessly jumps onto the wing, running against the wind to cling to the body of the giant machine at an altitude of 1,500 meters, trying to break inside. After this mission, a series of new, breathtaking action moments continue until the end of the film.
In the second film, Tom Cruise climbed some of the most dangerous cliffs in North America. In the fourth film, he ran across the surface of the world's tallest building - the Burj Khalifa - in Dubai. Compared to the previous four films, the action scenes in the new film have been upgraded to a breathtaking level. The action scenes in Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation are no less eye-catching than the scene where a car is parachuted from a plane or a car crashes through two skyscrapers in Dubai in Fast & Furious 7 earlier this summer.
However, what makes Tom Cruise's action scenes different is that they are limited in special effects and are done by Tom Cruise himself, without the need for a stunt double. Because of that, Tom Cruise's spy Ethan Hunt does not have as much of the classic, primitive, and mysterious "quality" as the spy from the novel - James Bond.
The new film's spy Ethan Hunt looks seasoned, experienced and dashing. The elaborate costumes help the character portrayed by Tom Cruise for 20 years once again attract viewers with his elegant, sometimes rugged and worldly appearance.
The beauty accompanying Tom Cruise in the new episode - Rebecca Ferguson - plays her role well. The Swedish actress has a mature appearance for her 31 years of age in real life but is still no less attractive in evening gowns or tight sportswear. She is also the character with the most complex personality and inner development, after Tom Cruise's main character.

Despite the change of artists, the new soundtrack retains the classic tunes from the first episode. The thrilling theme song was composed by Joe Kraemer, who also collaborated with director Christopher McQuarrie and Tom Cruise on the 2012 crime film adaptation Jack Reacher. With a cohesive and exciting soundtrack, the film smoothly transitions between multiple settings - from bustling London to cold Eastern Europe to winding roads on the edge of the desert.
While the dramatic sequences of the film leave their mark, the script of the new episode follows the classic formula and does not offer viewers a sophisticated or groundbreaking plot. However, the way a fight scene is inserted into the background of an opera at the beginning of the film shows the mastery of the writers and directors.
