Police caught a female scammer using real money to order birthday flowers.

Authorities have detained Phan Thi Kim Tuyen (born in 1992) for investigation into the fraudulent appropriation of property from many people through the scheme of ordering birthday flowers made with real money.

Previously, on April 12th, the Loc Chau commune police received a report from Ms. Cao Thi Nga, the owner of a flower shop in the area, about a woman named Tuyen ordering a bouquet made of real money worth over 7.2 million VND and then stealing it.

Specifically, upon receiving the bouquet, the woman asked for Ms. Nga's bank account number and then proceeded to transfer the money. Seeing that the transfer was successful, Ms. Nga allowed the woman to take the bouquet made of money.

After waiting a long time without receiving the money in her account, Ms. Nga tried calling the person who had paid for the bouquet but couldn't reach them. Suspecting she had been scammed, the owner of the flower shop posted the incident on social media to warn others about fraudulent activities.

During the investigation, the Loc Chau Commune Police and the Investigation Team of Area 3, Lam Dong Provincial Police, in coordination with the Phu Loi Ward Police, Thu Dau Mot City (Binh Duong), arrested Phan Thi Kim Tuyen.

Initially, Tuyen confessed that, in order to pay off debts and cover personal expenses, he resorted to fraud by contacting flower shops and birthday cake vendors and ordering products made with real money.

Once an agreement was reached, the person who hired the fake bank transaction successfully transferred the money to the shop owners, thereby misappropriating their assets.

Using this method, the police initially determined that Phan Thi Kim Tuyen had stolen over 7.2 million VND from Ms. Cao Thi Nga (residing in Loc Chau commune); 5.3 million VND from Ms. Le Thi My Dung (Loc Nga commune, Bao Loc city); and 4.4 million VND from Ms. Do Bich Ngoc (Loc An commune, Bao Lam district).
