(Baonghean.vn) - High consensus, excitement, anticipation... are the shares of many cultural and historical researchers as well as the majority of the city's people about"Project to upgrade and renovate the moat around Vinh Citadel".
Clip of opinions from researchers and people

Cultural and historical researcher Dao Tam Tinh:
Currently, historical records about Nghe An ancient citadel are quite complete. Accordingly, Nghe An citadel was built in the third year of Gia Long (1804) in the area of Vinh Yen and Yen Truong communes, now part of Vinh city. The architecture of the citadel was built in the traditional Eastern style, but because the citadel was of a protective (defensive) nature, it was influenced by the French and Western European citadel construction style (also known as Vauban).
Nghe An Citadel has the shape of a turtle (Quy Hinh style) with 6 sides and 6 corners.moat8 meters deep, 8 meters wide. The moat always has water and is drained through the Vinh River, which originates from the Le Dynasty Canal through Chinh Dich, and through the Lam River through the Mo Hac junction. The moat outside the citadel is used by the people to grow lotus, and lotus seeds must be paid to the court during the harvest season.

As can be seen, the moat is a component of the Nghe An ancient citadel relic complex. The restoration and embellishment of the moat is the right thing to do. As a researcher of culture and history, I personally feel very excited. Just pay attention to the issue of restoration and embellishment, it is necessary to carefully study historical documents on the architectural shape, construction materials... of the moat. This, in my opinion, is not too difficult, because in books such as Dai Nam Thuc Luc, Kham Dinh Dai Nam Hoi Dien Su Le... or the Nguyen Dynasty's records that we still preserve until now, we can find quite specific records on the architecture and materials of the moat in particular, and Nghe An ancient citadel in general.
When the moat is builtfinished, can put lotus in as the ancestors did, both creating a beautiful landscape and keeping the environment clean. People can go to the moat to walk, relax ...

The project to restore the moat around the ancient citadel is something that cultural and historical researchers, people, etc. have been waiting for and looking forward to for a long time. In addition to practical benefits such as environmental landscape, improving the quality of life of residents, moving towards economic tourism, etc., more than that, it is the restoration of the moat with profound cultural and historical values, educating the younger generation about the history of their homeland. In the future, it is possible to organize extracurricular activities or historical presentations right at the moat relic. Those will be the most profound lessons, with the strongest impact on the youth.
Mr. Nguyen Viet Tu - Head of Block 2, Cua Nam Ward:
Block 2 has 248 households, of which 39 households are affected by the project to restore and embellish the citadel. Specifically, 10 households are subject to resettlement elsewhere, the rest have a part of the area cut for the project. It must be affirmed that this is a project that is in the people's favor. One is to solveenvironmental pollutionSecond, the landscape in the moat creates a spacious and exciting atmosphere for the community as well as for each family in particular.
Currently, the local government has conducted measurements, statistics, and valuation of assets on land of each household and publicly released a draft price, posted at the ward People's Committee and the cultural house of the block for people to review. Basically, people have agreed, only a few households are concerned about the compensation price. People hope to soon reach an agreement on this issue so that the project can be carried out quickly.
Mr. Chau Van Trinh, resident of block 5, Doi Cung ward:

Mr. Chau Van Trinh pointed to the land area affected by the moat restoration project. |
Not only my family, but in general, most of the families who have to relocate and clear the land for the project to restore the ancient citadel moat are very in agreement, excited and want the project to proceed as quickly as possible. Another wish is that in terms of technical issues, the construction quality must be guaranteed, avoiding affecting the households adjacent to the project.
My family has 41 square meters of garden land "cut" for this project. Apart from the issue of reviewing the compensation price, what we are most concerned about is that during the construction of the moat, we need to carefully calculate and research the design to avoid sinking and cracking of people's houses.

Mr. Ho Xuan Tu, resident of block 5, Doi Cung ward:
We, the people, are looking forward to the project to restore the ancient citadel moat and hope that when the project is completed, the environmental pollution will be improved, and the annual floods will no longer be inundated. We only have concerns about the compensation price for land before and after the 1993 milestone, and we have presented our wishes to the local government. As for the rest of the compensation prices for assets, trees, houses, etc., the people highly agree and consider such compensation to be very satisfactory.
