(Baonghean.vn) - Within the framework of the activities of the 9th National Patriotic Emulation Congress, on the afternoon of December 6, at the National Convention Center (Hanoi), a solemn ceremony was held to commend and honor typical examples in the emulation movement "The whole country joins hands to build new rural areas (NTM)".

Attending the ceremony were comrades: Nguyen Tan Dung - Politburo member, Prime Minister, Chairman of the Central Emulation and Reward Council; Nguyen Thi Doan - Party Central Committee member, Vice President, First Vice Chairman of the Central Emulation and Reward Council; Tong Thi Phong - Politburo member, Vice Chairwoman of the National Assembly; Nguyen Thien Nhan - Politburo member, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, Vice Chairman of the Central Emulation and Reward Council; Phung Quang Thanh - Politburo member, Minister of National Defense; Tran Dai Quang - Politburo member, Minister of Public Security.

Also attending were leaders of the Party, State, leaders of ministries, departments and central branches, 1,800 delegates, typical examples nationwide attending the 9th National Patriotic Emulation Congress and 97 typical collectives with many outstanding achievements in the emulation movement "The whole country joins hands to build new rural areas".

Since Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung launched the movement "The whole country joins hands to build new rural areas" on June 8, 2011, the Party and State's leadership agencies from the central to local levels have focused on directing, leading, and operating resolutely, combined with regular monitoring and close inspection to ensure the movement develops in the right direction and brings about the most positive results.

After 5 years, the movement "The whole country joins hands to build the new rural area" phase 1 has achieved many remarkable results, mobilizing more than 844,000 billion VND nationwide, creating a strong change and a new look for rural Vietnam. Specific emulation movements in the movement to join hands to build the new rural area have been widely deployed across the country, bringing practical benefits to every citizen, and have become a strong development movement over the past many years.

On behalf of the Party and State leaders, Comrade Nguyen Tan Dung - Politburo member, Prime Minister, Chairman of the Central Emulation and Reward Council awarded the First Class Labor Medal to 13 provinces and centrally-run cities with outstanding achievements in the movement "The whole country joins hands to build new rural areas".

At the ceremony, Party and State leaders awarded the First Class Labor Medal to 13 provinces and centrally-run cities and 14 ministries, departments, branches and central organizations with many contributions and outstanding achievements in the first phase of the movement "The whole country joins hands to build new rural areas"; the Government's Emulation Flag to 10 districts meeting new rural standards and 60 typical new rural communes receiving Certificates of Merit from the Prime Minister.

Nghe An is honored to have a typical representative in the movement awarded a Certificate of Merit by the Prime Minister, that is Son Thanh commune, Yen Thanh district - the first commune of the province to reach the new rural finish line.

Vice President, First Vice President of the Central Emulation and Reward Council Nguyen Thi Doan awarded Certificates of Merit to representatives of 14 central ministries, departments, branches and organizations with many positive contributions to the new rural construction movement.

Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung awarded the Government's Emulation Flag to outstanding units in the movement "The whole country joins hands to build new rural areas" to representatives of 10 districts nationwide that have met new rural standards.

Comrade Vu Van Ninh - Deputy Prime Minister, on behalf of the Party and State leaders, awarded the Prime Minister's Certificate of Merit to 60 typical communes meeting NTM standards, contributing to the cause of building socialism and defending the Fatherland.

Delegate Nguyen Tri Hoa - Party Secretary of Son Thanh commune, Yen Thanh district, Nghe An province was honored to receive the Certificate of Merit from the Prime Minister for the typical new rural commune.

In the coming time, building a new rural area is the goal of the entire Party and people, creating a premise to enhance the position of farmers in the integration period. Joining hands to build a new rural area in phase 2 (2016-2020), the whole country continues to need unity and high determination at all levels from the Central to local levels, actively propagating and mobilizing people from all walks of life to participate in response, strengthening supervision and inspection work so that the movement takes place effectively, promptly rewarding and praising typical and excellent models across the country./.
