Honoring the great contribution of comrade Tran Quoc Hoan to the revolutionary cause of the Party

That was the general opinion of delegates at the scientific conference “Comrade Tran Quoc Hoan with the Vietnamese revolution and his homeland Nghe An”, held in Vinh City on the morning of October 28.

Attending the workshop, on behalf of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, there were comrades:Associate Professor, Dr. Tran Minh Truong - Director of the Ho Chi Minh Institute and Party Leaders; Associate Professor, Dr. Le Van Loi - Director of the Department of Science Management; Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Danh Tien - Director of the Institute of Party History. Also attending were Major General Nguyen Hong Thai - Editor-in-Chief of the People's Public Security Magazine; Associate Professor, Dr. Vu Hoang Cong - Editor-in-Chief of the Political Theory Magazine.

On the side of Nghe An province, there was comrade Nguyen Thi Thu Huong - Member of the Standing Committee, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department and representatives of relevant departments, branches and sectors.

Comrade Tran Quoc Hoan's real name was Nguyen Trong Canh (1916 - 1986), born in Duong Lieu village, Nam Kim commune, now Nam Trung commune, Nam Dan district. Born in a rural area with a tradition of patriotism and revolution, comrade Tran Quoc Hoan was enlightened about the revolution early.

From a patriotic young man, he quickly matured and was trusted by the Party and President Ho Chi Minh with many important responsibilities. For more than 30 years as a member of the Party Central Committee, more than 20 years as a member of the Politburo and 28 years as head of the People's Public Security force, he always put the interests of the revolution, the Party and the nation above all else.

Speaking at the opening of the workshop, comrade Nguyen Thi Thu Huong - Member of the Standing Committee, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department emphasized: The life and career of comrade Tran Quoc Hoan is a process of continuing the patriotic tradition of the homeland and nation and is the persistent and continuous struggle of a loyal communist soldier, devoted to the people and the country.

The scientific conference is one of the meaningful activities to commemorate and pay tribute to the great contributions; at the same time clarify the biography, background and career of comrade Tran Quoc Hoan.

Associate Professor, Dr. Tran Minh Truong - Director of the Ho Chi Minh Institute and other Party leaders gave opening speeches at the conference. In addition to the general assessments, Associate Professor, Dr. Tran Minh Truong also expressed his wish to receive opinions, sharing, discussion and consensus from delegates on some gaps in documents that need to be supplemented, such as when comrade Tran Quoc Hoan was arrested by French secret police at the end of 1934 and where the French colonial court tried him, and in which prison he was imprisoned; there were not many documents about his activities and instructions in the period of 1937 - 1939...

The conference received 20 presentations from scientists and researchers. This is an important source of information to promote and educate generations, especially the younger generation, about the contributions of our ancestors to our homeland and country.
