Honoring the beauty of female workers in Nghe An
(Baonghean.vn) - Thanks to the attention of businesses and trade unions, female workers in many factories and workshops have had meaningful experiences on International Women's Day, March 8.
With limited time and a difficult life, for many female workers directly involved in production at factories, days like March 8 or October 20 are not much different from normal days. They still wear protective clothing, will work until the end of the shift, will save every penny to cover their living expenses. In order to improve the spiritual life of workers, more and more businesses have paid attention, organized suitable playgrounds and honored the beauty of female workers.

Not expecting to make it to the final round of the competition, contestant Dau Thi Hoa (sewing group 9) of Minh Anh Garment Joint Stock Company shared: “I am a shy person and I am raising a young child, so if it weren’t for the encouragement of my friends and colleagues, I would not have participated in this competition. The competition was truly an extremely valuable experience that helped me learn many things and become more confident in life.”
In the same garment industry and with many female workers, An Nam Matsuoka Company (Hung Nguyen) has just launched the "Miss Photo Contest" to celebrate International Women's Day, March 8. Ms. Nguyen Thi Nhung - Chairman of the Company's Trade Union said: "The company has only been in operation for nearly a year and this is the first time we have organized such a contest. The company is always aware that employees are valuable assets of the enterprise and tries to build many activities to motivate and encourage the spirit of workers. Although the scale of the contest is not large, it has brought women an interesting playground outside of working hours."

Although the event was organized simply and neatly, female workers were still very happy to have a contest dedicated to them. Photo: Diep Thanh |
Up to now, on occasions honoring women, programs dedicated to female workers directly involved in production are almost rare. If in office environments, the State, employees can participate in home economics competitions, organize festivals, and participate in“Ao Dai Week”... then the content for female workers directly involved in production is still open. But in recent years, in many provinces and cities across the country, trade unions at all levels have had ideas to build programs and playgrounds suitable for the specific work of female workers in enterprises and factories. Typical examples are the contest "Beauty of female workers" in Binh Duong province; "Beautiful photos of female union members and employees in trade union activities" in Da Nang city... In these contests, the beauty of women is honored in the daily working environment, in their protective clothing or uniforms and anyone can participate. With a provincial or municipal scale, these programs not only create a wide spread but also are interesting playgrounds for local trade unions to connect with each other, learn and exchange with each other.

“Although there has been a change in awareness compared to before, currently, many businesses are still only concerned with the production and business situation instead of taking care of the spiritual life of workers. Therefore, playgrounds for workers need to be spread and expanded. I also believe that, with the support of trade unions at all levels and the attention of businesses, in the future there will be more meaningful activities aimed at workers in general and female workers in particular,” Ms. Tran Thi Nguyet - Vice President of the Southeast Economic Zone Trade Union, shared.
