General Secretary and President congratulate the King of Thailand on his coronation
Vietnamese leaders hope that the strategic partnership between the two countries will continue to develop after King Vajiralongkorn's coronation.

General Secretary and President Nguyen Phu Trong sent a congratulatory letter to King Maha Vajiralongkorn Bodindradebayavarangkun on the occasion of his official coronation as the 10th King of Thailand, a statement from the Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs said today.
The Vietnamese leaders expressed their belief that under the reign of the King, Thailand will continue to gain great achievements in building a prosperous and strong country. The General Secretary and President also believed that the Vietnam-Thailand Strategic Partnership will continue to develop, for the common interests of the people of the two countries, for peace, stability and development of the ASEAN Community and the Asia-Pacific region.
The coronation of King Maha Vajiralongkorn took place over three days from May 4 to May 6, with solemn Hindu and Buddhist rituals. This was the first coronation of a Thai king in 69 years. King Vajiralongkorn is the 10th monarch of the Chakri dynasty, which has ruled Thailand since 1782.
