General Secretary, President To Lam and his wife arrive in Beijing, China
On the afternoon of August 18, after concluding activities in Guangdong province, the plane carrying General Secretary and President To Lam and his wife along with the high-ranking Vietnamese delegation arrived in Beijing, continuing the State visit to China.
Welcoming General Secretary and President To Lam and his wife at the airport were Mr. Wang Yi, Politburo member, Director of the Office of the Foreign Affairs Commission of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, Minister of Foreign Affairs of China; Chinese Ambassador to Vietnam Hung Ba; a number of department and bureau-level officials and a large number of Chinese people.
In addition, there were also officials from the Vietnamese Embassy in China and many overseas Vietnamese in Beijing who went to the airport to welcome the delegation.
Beijing International Airport was brightly lit with the Vietnamese and Chinese flags. Two rows of honor guards lined the red carpet. The welcoming ceremony also featured a welcome dance performance by a large number of Chinese youth, teenagers, and children.
Director of the Office of the Foreign Affairs Commission of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi warmly welcomed General Secretary and President To Lam and his wife and the high-ranking Vietnamese delegation. Two Chinese children presented fresh flowers to General Secretary and President To Lam and his wife.



Afterwards, General Secretary and President To Lam and his wife, along with the high-ranking Vietnamese delegation, moved to the Vietnamese Embassy in Beijing to meet and talk with embassy staff, community representatives and Vietnamese students studying in China.
The State visit to China is the first foreign trip of General Secretary and President To Lam in his new position. This is also a particularly important foreign activity between Vietnam and China in 2024, having a great impact on the development trend of the relationship between the two Parties and the two countries in the long term.
