General Secretary congratulates General Vo Nguyen Giap on his birthday

On the occasion of the 103rd birthday of General Vo Nguyen Giap (August 25, 1911 - August 25, 2013), former Politburo member, former Deputy Prime Minister, former Minister of National Defense, on the afternoon of August 24, General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong visited, presented gifts, and wished General Vo Nguyen Giap a long life.

Also attending was Mr. Tran Quoc Vuong, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Chief of the Central Office.

In the heroic atmosphere of the 68th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day September 2, General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong expressed his respect for General Vo Nguyen Giap, the first Commander-in-Chief of the Vietnam People's Army, the Elder Brother of the heroic Vietnamese People's Armed Forces.

The General Secretary respectfully wishes the General good health and longevity, and that he will forever be a shining example and the pride of the Vietnam People's Army.

On this occasion, General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong praised and thanked the professors, doctors and nurses of the 108 Military Central Hospital for treating and taking good care of the General's health; hoping that the hospital's staff and doctors will continue to take better care of the General so that he will be healthy and live long.

On the same day, a delegation from the Ministry of National Defense led by Mr. Phung Quang Thanh, Politburo member and Minister of National Defense, and a delegation from Hanoi led by Mr. Pham Quang Nghi, Politburo member and Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee, visited, presented gifts and wished General Vo Nguyen Giap a long life./.
