The General Secretary arrived in Phnom Penh, beginning his state visit to Cambodia.
Pochentong Airport was adorned with flowers and the national flags of both countries. Two portraits of the General Secretary and King Norodom Sihamoni were prominently displayed at the airport.
At exactly 8:45 AM on July 20th, the special aircraft carrying General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong and the high-level Vietnamese delegation on a state visit to the Kingdom of Cambodia at the invitation of King Norodom Sihamoni of Cambodia landed at Pochentong International Airport in Phnom Penh.

| Welcoming the General Secretary at the airport, on the Vietnamese side were the Vietnamese Ambassador to Cambodia, Thach Du, embassy staff, and a large number of representatives from the Vietnamese community and businesses in Cambodia. |
Greeting the delegation at the airport were Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Royal Palace Samdech Kong Som Ol, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Relations with the National Assembly, Senate and Inspectorate Men Som On, several officials from the Royal Palace, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Cambodian People's Party, and representatives from various sectors of the population.
On the Vietnamese side were the Vietnamese Ambassador to Cambodia, Thach Du, embassy staff, and numerous representatives of the Vietnamese community and businesses in Cambodia.
