As General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam or Advisor to the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, Comrade Do Muoi paid special attention to the socio-economic development of Nghe An province, Nam Dan district, and Kim Lien commune - Uncle Ho's hometown.

His direct instructions to the leaders of Nghe An province, Nam Dan district and Kim Lien commune, and what he wrote in the Golden Book of the Kim Lien relic site all expressed his earnest wish that Nghe An province, Nam Dan district and Kim Lien commune must become model provinces, model districts and model communes in the cause of building socialism as Uncle Ho always wished during his lifetime.

During his visit to Kim Lien Relic Site on September 10, 1995, comrade Do Muoi wrote in the Golden Book of Memories:

"On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day September 2, the 65th anniversary of the Nghe Tinh Soviet, visiting Uncle Ho's hometown, I am deeply moved and miss him so much.

Over the past half century, under the glorious flag of the Communist Party of Vietnam and beloved Uncle Ho, our people have made miracles in the cause of building and defending the Fatherland.

Over the past ten years, implementing the renovation process initiated and led by our Party, our country in general and Nghe An, Uncle Ho's homeland, in particular, have had encouraging developments on the path towards "a rich people, a strong country, a fair, democratic and civilized society".

I hope that the Party Committee and people of the province will continue to strive to promote the Nghe Tinh Soviet tradition to build Nghe An into a rich and strong and model province as Uncle Ho always wished during his lifetime.

I hope that the cadres and employees of the Kim Lien Relic Site will try even harder to preserve and promote the usefulness of this historical site - a priceless heritage that Uncle Ho and his relatives left behind, contributing to making Ho Chi Minh's ideology live forever in our cause."

On October 6, 1998, visiting Kim Lien relic site, comrade Do Muoi wrote in the souvenir book:

"Every time we visit Uncle Ho's hometown, we feel more and more proud and grateful to our beloved President Ho Chi Minh!

Nghe An province, Nam Dan district, Kim Lien commune has the great honor of being the birthplace of President Ho Chi Minh, a national hero, a world cultural celebrity. He is the faith, the pride, the source of sacred affection of our people, a character that friends from all over the world praise and love.

I hope that: Nghe An, Nam Dan, Kim Lien must be a model province, model district, model commune in the cause of building socialism so that when everyone comes to Kim Lien, they all praise: "It is truly the homeland of the great President Ho Chi Minh".

Visiting the Kim Lien relic site this time, comrade Do Muoi had a meeting and dialogue with many cadres and people of Kim Lien commune about many issues that he was interested in. In a sincere and open atmosphere, cadres and people reflected and expressed many opinions.

Comrade Do Muoi noted the opinions of the cadres and people of Kim Lien commune to discuss with the local Party committee and government, aiming to make Kim Lien develop worthy of being the homeland of beloved Uncle Ho.

This direct dialogue left a deep impression in the hearts of the people of Kim Lien commune about Comrade Do Muoi's concern for Uncle Ho's homeland.
