On the morning of September 21, in Hanoi, the ceremony to announce the Politburo's decision to appoint the Central Public Security Party Committee for the 2015-2020 term took place. General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong attended and delivered a speech at the ceremony.

Also attending the ceremony were President Tran Dai Quang; Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc; Standing member of the Secretariat Dinh The Huynh; Minister of Public Security To Lam; Head of the Central Organizing Committee Pham Minh Chinh and members of the Central Public Security Party Committee.

On behalf of the Politburo, Mr. Pham Minh Chinh, Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Organization Commission, announced the Politburo's decision to appoint the Central Public Security Party Committee for the 2015-2020 term, consisting of 16 comrades; the Party Committee's Standing Committee, consisting of 7 comrades, including 3 Party and State leaders: the General Secretary, the President and the Prime Minister.

The Standing Committee of the Central Public Security Party Committee consists of 7 comrades. For the first time, the General Secretary participates in the Standing Committee of the Central Public Security Party Committee.

This is the first time in his tenure that the General Secretary has participated in the Party Committee and the Standing Committee of the Central Public Security Party Committee. Comrade To Lam holds the position of Secretary of the Central Public Security Party Committee.

Speaking at the ceremony, General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong emphasized: The Vietnam People's Public Security is a very important revolutionary force, founded, trained and led directly and absolutely in all aspects by the Party and President Ho Chi Minh. Over the past 70 years, the Central Public Security Party Committee has continuously developed and matured.

Referring to the tasks of the Central Public Security Party Committee for the 2015-2020 term, General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong stated: The Central Public Security Party Committee must truly be a united and strong collective, promoting collective intelligence, unifying will and action, seriously implementing the Political Platform and the Party's Statutes, maintaining and promoting the role of absolute and direct leadership in all aspects of public security work. Continuing to promote the tradition and inheriting the working experience of the Central Public Security Party Committee of previous terms, the Central Public Security Party Committee must devote all its efforts to serving the revolutionary cause of the Party and the people, striving to excellently complete political tasks in the new term.

The General Secretary emphasized: Each member of the Central Public Security Party Committee must be truly exemplary, diligent, frugal, honest and upright; impartial; practice what they preach, dare to face difficulties and challenges, be resolute in leadership and action; have a high sense of responsibility to contribute to the common decisions of the Central Public Security Party Committee; and truly be a shining example for officers and soldiers to learn and follow. The General Secretary requested that special attention be paid to and focus on building the Central Public Security Party Committee, Party organizations in the People's Public Security and the People's Public Security force to be truly clean, strong, absolutely loyal to the Party and the Fatherland, with high leadership capacity and fighting strength, capable of excellently completing assigned functions and tasks in all situations.

The General Secretary pointed out: Personnel work is the decisive step, organizing the police force in the direction of "refined, compact, strong", with a suitable organizational structure. Seriously and frankly assess, identify and propose solutions to prevent and repel signs of degradation in political ideology, ethics, lifestyle, "self-evolution", "self-transformation" within the Party.
