General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong arrives in Bangkok (Thailand)
Welcoming the delegation at the airport were Thai Deputy Prime Minister Yokol Limlengthong and Minister of Home Affairs Charupon Ruangsuwan.
At the invitation of Thai Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra, General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong and a high-level Vietnamese delegation begin a three-day official visit to the Kingdom of Thailand, from today (June 25) to June 27.
At exactly 9:55 a.m., the special aircraft carrying General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong and the high-level Vietnamese delegation arrived at Don Mueang Airport in Bangkok, beginning their official visit to the Kingdom of Thailand.

Welcoming the delegation at the airport were Thai Deputy Prime Minister Yokol Limlengthong; Minister of Home Affairs Charupon Ruangsuwan, accompanying the delegation, representatives of the Thai Government, and staff of the Vietnamese Embassy in Thailand.
Thai Deputy Prime Minister Yokol Limlengthong greeted and presented flowers to General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong right at the foot of the airplane's stairs.
Next, the Deputy Prime Minister invited the General Secretary and the delegation to walk on the red carpet, between two rows of honor guards.

For the first time in exactly 20 years, the General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam visited the Kingdom of Thailand since General Secretary Do Muoi's visit in 1993. The visit affirms that Vietnam always attaches great importance to developing and expanding friendly relations and multifaceted cooperation with Thailand, considering it a priority in Vietnam's foreign policy, bringing the relationship between the two countries to a new level, for the benefit of the people of both countries, and for peace, stability, cooperation, and development in the region.
This afternoon, at the Prime Minister's Office, Thai Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra will preside over the official welcoming ceremony for General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong and the high-level Vietnamese delegation visiting Thailand according to state protocol.

Following this, General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong and Thai Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra will hold talks and agree on establishing a strategic partnership between Vietnam and Thailand.
