The General Secretary receives the delegation of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party.

On the afternoon of January 11th, at the Party Central Headquarters, General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong received the delegation of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party led by Mr. Cheueng Sombounkhan, Secretary of the Central Committee, Head of the Central Propaganda Department of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party, and Chairman of the National Council of Social Sciences of Laos.

A delegation from the Lao People's Revolutionary Party is currently visiting and attending the first Theoretical Seminar between the two Parties, themed "Some key theoretical and practical issues in the process of accelerating the renovation process in Vietnam and Laos."

At the meeting, General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong warmly welcomed the delegation of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party led by the Head of the Central Propaganda Department of Laos, Cheueng Sombounkhan, to visit Vietnam and attend the Theoretical Seminar between the two Parties, considering this a very important event taking place at a time when the two Parties, two States and the people of the two countries have just successfully organized the Vietnam-Lao Friendship and Solidarity Year.

The General Secretary affirmed that theoretical work plays an extremely important role for both Parties. Organizing the seminar between the two Parties is very beneficial and practical, providing an opportunity for both sides to learn from each other, to deeply exchange and analyze pressing issues arising from the realities of the two countries' reform process, and to share experiences in leadership, Party building, social management, and economic development. This will strengthen theoretical work, contribute to the successful implementation of each Party's resolutions, and further consolidate and strengthen the special solidarity between Vietnam and Laos.

The General Secretary expressed his hope that in the coming time, the Central Theoretical Council of the Communist Party of Vietnam and the National Council of Social Sciences of Laos will continue to cooperate closely, strengthen the exchange of information, topics and research subjects of mutual interest, and make good preparations for future theoretical conferences.

General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong asked the delegation to convey his greetings to General Secretary and President of Laos Choummaly Sayasone and other high-ranking leaders of the Lao Party and State.

Head of the Central Propaganda Department of Laos, Cheueng Sombounkhan, respectfully conveyed the warm greetings and best wishes for good health from the General Secretary and President of Laos, Choummaly Sayasone, to General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong; and sincerely thanked the General Secretary for taking the time to receive the delegation.

The Head of the Central Propaganda Department of Laos informed General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong about the results of the first Theoretical Seminar between the two Parties and highly appreciated the significance and practical effects of the seminar, contributing to clarifying some theoretical issues that the reality of the renovation process in both countries is raising; the results of the seminar will help Laos gain more experience in both theory and practice in leadership, Party building, social management, and economic development in the process of accelerating the socialist-oriented renovation process in Laos.

The Head of the Central Propaganda Department of Laos emphasized that the cooperation agreement recently signed by the two Parties' Theoretical Councils will create a basis for the two Parties to strengthen cooperation in the field of theoretical research; affirming that the Party, State, and people of Laos are determined to forever preserve and promote the traditional friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation between Laos and Vietnam.
