General Secretary Tran Phu

General Secretary Tran Phu was born on May 1, 1904, and held the position of General Secretary of the Party from October 1930 to April 1931.

SUMMARY OF WORK EXPERIENCE

- 1918 - 1922: Tran Phu studied at Hue National School.

- 1922: Passed the Thanh Chung exam at Hue National School, was appointed as a teacher at Cao Xuan Duc Primary School in Vinh (Nghe An).

- 1925: Joined the Phuc Viet Association in Vinh, later the Association changed to Tan Viet Revolutionary Party.

- September 1925: Went to Laos to promote revolution.

- 1926: Participated in activities: movement to demand French colonialists to return freedom to patriot Phan Boi Chau, organized Phan Chu Trinh's memorial service, opened a class to teach the national language.

- June 1926: Went to Guangzhou (China) to attend the second political training course taught directly by leader Nguyen Ai Quoc and was admitted to the Vietnam Revolutionary Youth Association.

- October 1926: Tran Phu was admitted to the Communist Youth Union and was assigned by the Youth Central Committee to go to Central Vietnam to build and develop the Association's base.

- 1/1927: Returned to Guangzhou. Here, he was sent by Leader Nguyen Ai Quoc to the Soviet Union to study at the Oriental University under the alias Licôvay.

- November 1929: After graduating from the Oriental University, he received instructions from the Communist International and secretly boarded a train to Leningrad (now Saint Petersburg) to begin his journey back home to work.

- February 8, 1930: He returned to Saigon, then went to Hong Kong and met Leader Nguyen Ai Quoc and was introduced to participate in activities in the Provisional Executive Committee (Provisional Central Executive Committee).

- April 1930: Returned to Hai Phong and was added to the Provisional Executive Committee (July 1930) and assigned to draft the "Political Platform".

- October 1930: The first conference of the Party Central Committee held in Hong Kong (China) approved the "Political Platform" and elected the official Central Committee, and he was elected General Secretary of the Party.

- March 1931: Chaired the 2nd Central Conference in Saigon to discuss Party rectification after the enemy's terror. The conference issued a Resolution on the Party's current tasks, a Resolution on Party organization, and a Resolution on agitation and propaganda.

- April 18, 1931: He was arrested by the enemy and detained in Saigon Central Prison.

- September 6, 1931: He died at Cho Quan Hospital, Saigon.

- January 12, 1999: Comrade Tran Phu's remains were moved to his hometown of Duc Tho, Ha Tinh for burial.
