General Department of Politics inspects combat readiness work, wishes a happy new year to Nghe An military
(Baonghean.vn) -On January 16, 2013, Lieutenant General Mai Quang Phan - Member of the Party Central Committee, Member of the Central Military Commission, Deputy Director of the General Department of Politics and the delegation of the General Department of Politics visited and extended New Year greetings to the Command of Military Region 4, Division 324, Infantry Regiment 1 and the Command of the Border Guard of Nghe An province.
At the Military Region 4 Command, Lieutenant General Nguyen Huu Cuong, Commander of the Military Region and comrades in the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and the Military Region Command received and worked with the delegation.
After listening to Lieutenant General Nguyen Huu Cuong - Commander of the Military Region report on the results of the implementation of tasks in 2013, the direction of tasks in 2014 and the implementation of tasks to welcome Spring, and be on combat readiness during the 2014 Lunar New Year, Lieutenant General Mai Quang Phan highly appreciated the results of the implementation of tasks of Military Region 4 and wished the officers and soldiers of the Military Region to welcome the 2014 Lunar New Year with the spirit of: "Joyful, excited, united, safe, economical and highly combat ready".
Next, a delegation from the Ministry of National Defense led by Lieutenant General Mai Quang Phan - Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Director of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army, inspected combat readiness and wished the officers and soldiers of Division 324 a happy new year. Accompanying them was Major General Vo Van Viet - Party Secretary, Political Commissar of Military Region 4.
Before the working session with the Division, the delegation burned incense and offered flowers at the Memorial House for the Division's heroic martyrs.

At the meeting, Colonel Le Tat Thang - Deputy Division Commander, Chief of Staff reported to the delegation some main results of the implementation of tasks in 2013, and the implementation of tasks in 2014. In the past year, the division has successfully completed its goals and targets for the year. Officers and soldiers are confident in their attachment to the unit, the level of combat readiness and mobility of the division has been raised to a new level, meeting all immediate mission requirements when situations arise.
In 2013, the Party Committee of the Division achieved the title of "Strong Military Force", the VMTD Division, including the BB1 Regiment, was awarded the emulation flag by the Ministry of National Defense, and 1 regiment, 5 battalions and 24 companies were awarded the title of "Excellent Training Unit", 173 groups and 2,408 individuals were awarded other forms. Preparing for all the work to welcome the New Year, the whole Division directed the units to develop a plan to ensure combat readiness, preparing for the troops to celebrate the New Year with the spirit of "Joyful, healthy, safe, economical, combat readiness".
The Division plans to spend 1.3 to 1.4 billion VND from the unit's capital fund to visit and give gifts to groups, individuals, and families with meritorious services in the stationed area. It ensures Tet gifts for each officer of the Military and Civil Service from 300,000 to 500,000 VND/person.
At the reception, on behalf of the Ministry of National Defense delegation, Lieutenant General Mai Quang Phan praised the achievements that the officers and soldiers of Division 324 have achieved in the past time. He noted: The leaders and commanders of the Division organized for the troops to celebrate the New Year with the spirit of "Joy, health, safety, thrift, combat readiness", coordinating with local Party committees and authorities in the area to contribute to maintaining political stability in the area.

At the Nghe An Provincial Border Guard, on behalf of the Party Committee and Command of the Nghe An Border Guard, Colonel Dinh Ngoc Van - Commander reported an overview of the political security situation, social order and safety in the area and some results achieved in the 2013 Emulation Movement to Win and the preparation work for the Tet holiday of the officers and soldiers of the Nghe An Border Guard and ethnic minorities in the border area. Up to now, the plan for preparation and combat readiness to protect before, during and after Tet has been deployed by the officers and soldiers of the Border Guard in all areas where the units are stationed. According to the plan, the units ensure 70% of the number of soldiers on duty, and at the same time proactively let the soldiers celebrate Tet early to carry out the task of protecting the sovereignty and security of the border so that the people can celebrate Tet safely and happily. The preparation of Tet at the units for officers and soldiers has also been deployed to ensure that officers and soldiers on duty during Tet have a happy Tet and are highly ready to fight.
Lieutenant General Mai Quang Phan highly appreciated and commended the achievements of the officers and soldiers of Nghe An Border Guard in the past time. Especially in 2013, the unit proactively advised the local Party Committee and authorities to do a good job in building and consolidating the political base in the border area, building a strong people's border defense, doing a good job in mobilizing the masses in the stationed area, implementing the Party's policies and the State's laws, effectively fighting against all types of crimes, especially drug trafficking, explosives, and cross-border trafficking of women... Effectively participating in economic, cultural and social development, consolidating national defense and security in the border area; doing a good job in border foreign affairs. Maintaining and ensuring the regime of command and combat readiness..., contributing to maintaining the sovereignty and security of the border in the area. The Deputy Chief also reminded the leaders and commanders of the Border Guard to do a good job of political and ideological education, further improve the quality of training and combat readiness, especially before, during and after the Lunar New Year, and to organize for the troops to celebrate the New Year in a truly joyful, safe and economical manner, and to coordinate with local authorities to support the families of martyrs, families of policy beneficiaries, people with meritorious services, poor households and ethnic minorities, ensuring that the New Year comes to everyone, every home.
