World Health Organization Director-General: China's 'Zero Covid' policy is unsustainable
On May 10, World Health Organization Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said that China's Zero Covid policy is unsustainable.
This is a rare comment from the headHealth Organizationworld on the government's Covid-19 response policy.
“When we talk about a ‘No Covid’ strategy, we don’t think it’s sustainable given the current state of the virus and what we expect in the future. Especially when we have good knowledge and understanding of the virus now and when we have good tools at our disposal, it will be important to transition to a different strategy.”

He also said that China has recorded 15,000 deaths since the SARS-CoV-2 virus first appeared in Wuhan city in late 2019, a relatively low number compared to 1 million deaths in the US and 500 in India. This is understandable when the world's most populous country wants to limit the spread of Covid-19./.
