(Baonghean.vn) - On June 20th, the Nghe An Provincial Military Command held a conference to summarize the work of collecting the remains of fallen soldiers during the 2013-2014 dry season. Representatives from the Political Department of Military Region 4 and the Provincial Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs attended the conference. Colonel Luong Hong Phong, Political Commissar of the Nghe An Provincial Military Command, chaired the conference.

Despite facing numerous difficulties and complexities, the officers and soldiers of the repatriation team consistently demonstrated a high sense of responsibility, overcoming all obstacles, hardships, and dangers, and persevering in their mission. As a result, the repatriation of the remains of Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts who died in the Lao People's Democratic Republic during the 2013-2014 dry season achieved good results.

During the 2013-2014 dry season, the Nghệ An Provincial Military Command's team for collecting and repatriating the remains of fallen soldiers from Laos conducted two search and recovery operations, bringing back 88 sets of remains. Among these, four sets of remains were identified with names and hometowns. The Military Region and the province organized a thorough and solemn handover and burial ceremony. At the conference, two collectives and 23 individuals received commendations from the Provincial Military Command for their outstanding achievements in collecting and repatriating the remains of fallen soldiers during the 2013-2014 dry season.
