Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc has just signed and issued Directive No. 15/CT-TTg on land inventory and mapping of current land use status in 2019.

Accordingly, the Prime Minister requested the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment and relevant ministries, branches, People's Committees of provinces and centrally run cities to organize land inventory and map the current land use status in 2019 nationwide, in order to assess the current land use situation of each administrative unit at all levels, as a basis for planning and land use plans at all levels for the period 2021 - 2030 and building a socio-economic development strategy to 2030, with a vision to 2045.

The content of land inventory and mapping of current land use status includes: area of ​​land types; area of ​​land users and management subjects, including detailed inventory of rice-growing land, production forest land, protective forest land, special-use forest land; Wetland area, nature reserve land, biodiversity conservation facility land, etc.

Along with that is the situation of land use managed and used by state-owned enterprises and equitized enterprises; land used by forest management boards and agricultural and forestry production enterprises; land in commercial housing construction projects; land for construction of non-public works, public works for business purposes; agricultural land used for public purposes.

The Directive clearly states: The time to implement land inventory and map the current land use status is implemented uniformly nationwide from August 1, 2019. Land inventory data for 2019 is calculated up to December 31, 2019.

The deadline for completing and reporting the results of land inventory and mapping the current land use status in 2019 will end before June 16, 2020 nationwide.

The Ministry of National Defense and the Ministry of Public Security shall complete and send the results to the Provincial People's Committee before January 16, 2020 for synthesis and reporting; and send the results to the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment before April 16, 2020.

The Prime Minister also requested the Ministry of National Defense and the Ministry of Public Security to preside over and coordinate with provinces and cities to conduct an inventory of national defense and security land to unify data to serve the requirements of synthesizing land inventory results, creating a map of the current land use status in 2019 of each locality, and at the same time send a report of the results to the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment for synthesis.
