Government Inspector General Le Minh Khai: Overcoming delays and postponements in inspection conclusions

Mr. Le Minh Khai said he was "touched, honored and felt a heavy responsibility before the Party, the National Assembly, the Government and voters".

When asked what areas he would focus on after taking office, the new Government Inspector General said that he would first "focus on performing well the inspection tasks as required by the Central Steering Committee on Anti-Corruption assigned to the industry, especially inspecting to clarify and strictly handle according to the law those organizations and individuals who have committed violations causing great losses in projects that are of public concern."

"Continue to inspect economic groups, state-owned corporations, state-owned enterprises, sectors and fields of management and use of state capital and assets that are prone to corruption and negativity. End inspections of complicated cases involving the responsibilities of many agencies and units, and key economic inspections assigned by the Government and the Prime Minister as soon as possible," said Mr. Khai.

Mr. Le Minh Khai also affirmed that he will strictly comply with legal regulations on the time for reporting inspection results, promptly issue and publicize inspection conclusions, and try to overcome delays in announcing inspection conclusions.

"We will also strictly implement regulations on transferring cases with signs of crime to investigation agencies in accordance with legal regulations; overcome limitations in post-inspection supervision and handling, and resolutely urge strict implementation of conclusions and recommendations of the inspectorate," said the new Government Inspector General.

Regarding institutional building, Mr. Le Minh Khai said that in the immediate future, priority will be given to close coordination with the National Assembly agencies and relevant agencies to amend and supplement the Law on Anti-Corruption and the Law on Denunciation, ensuring quality and feasibility.

I will promptly encourage and reward individuals with outstanding achievements, and at the same time strictly handle inspection officers who violate the law and industry regulations.
