Argentina's president tests positive for Covid-19.
Argentine authorities have confirmed that the country's president, Alberto Fernandez, has tested positive for SARS-CoV-2.
However, according to President Alberto Fernandez's personal physician, he contracted a mild case of Covid-19 due to the effects of a previously received vaccine.
Alberto Fernandez's health remains good, although he is experiencing some symptoms such as headaches and a mild fever.

Earlier, in a statement posted on his Twitter account on April 2nd, President Alberto Fernandez also announced that he had gone into isolation after initial testing showed he was positive for the SARS-CoV-2 virus. He had received the Sputnik V vaccine, manufactured in Russia, earlier this year.
Argentina is facing a second wave of Covid-19 infections with a continuous increase in new cases. Nearly 10,000 new infections were recorded on April 2nd alone.
This South American nation of 44 million people has recorded more than 2.3 million COVID-19 cases, with over 56,000 deaths.
