President Biden declares that the US does not seek military confrontation with Russia in Ukraine
(Baonghean.vn) - US President Joe Biden declared that the US does not seek a military confrontation with Russia in Ukraine.

In a nationally televised speech on October 19 local time defending the policy of additional military aid to Ukraine and Israel, President Biden declared that if Russia attacks a NATO ally, the US “will defend every inch of NATO territory.”
“We will have something we are not looking for,” he said, adding: “We do not want American troops fighting in Russia or against Russia.”
President Biden reiterated that he has repeatedly denied plans to send US troops to Ukraine. "From the beginning, I said I would not send American troops to fight in Ukraine. All Ukraine asked for was help - weapons, ammunition, capabilities, the ability to push Russian forces back from their territory. And air defense systems that could shoot down Russian missiles before they destroyed Ukrainian cities," President Biden asserted.
Washington believes that providing additional military assistance to the Kiev regime is a matter of national security and must continue, President Biden stressed. "I know these conflicts seem far away. It's normal to ask: Why does this matter to the United States? Let me share with you why ensuring Israel and Ukraine succeed is important to American national security."
The White House boss said Russian President Vladimir Putin “denies that Ukraine has or ever had real statehood” and reiterated his recent comment that if the West withdrew support for Ukraine, Kiev would have only a week to live. “But we will not withdraw,” Mr. Biden declared.
President Biden also stressed that ending US support for Ukraine would cause an escalation of tensions in the Asia-Pacific and the Middle East. He said: “Beyond Europe, we know that our allies and perhaps most importantly our adversaries are watching closely. They are watching our response in Ukraine.”
Mr Biden said that if Russia wins in Ukraine, “the risk of conflict and chaos spreading to other parts of the world – in the Indo-Pacific and the Middle East, particularly in the Middle East”. “Iran is supporting Russia in Ukraine and they are supporting Hamas and other terrorist groups in the region,” the US leader accused. “And we will continue to hold them accountable,” he said.
President Biden concluded: "The United States and our partners in the region are working to build a better future for the Middle East."
It is expected that today, President Biden will send a request to the US Congress for more aid for Ukraine and Israel./.
