Brazilian President Shocked That More Than 1,000 Men Have Their Penis Amputated Every Year
Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro could not hide his shock that more than 1,000 male penis amputations are performed each year in the country due to poor hygiene.

“In Brazil, we have more than 1,000 amputations every year because of lack of water and soap. We have to find a way out of this pit,”Reutersquoted Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro telling reporters in the capital Brasilia on April 25.
According to President Bolsonaro, the Brazilian government needs to have a plan to help men in the country realize the dangers of the habit of not maintaining genital hygiene.
“When we get to this point, it means we have really hit rock bottom… We have to find a way to get out of that rock bottom, by raising awareness, showing them what they need to do, what is good for them, good for their future and to avoid getting to the sad situation we have now, with the number of amputations that we have every year,” Mr. Bolsonaro said.
A spokesman for the Brazilian Urological Association said the figure of 1,000 penile amputations per year mentioned by President Bolsonaro was taken from official data, in which amputations were related to untreatable infections, cancers and HIV complications.
