President Duterte declares to the US: 'Stop threatening North Korea'
(Baonghean.vn)- Ahead of his meeting with US President Donald Trump in November, Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte said Washington should stop threatening Pyongyang and instead assure North Korean leader Kim Jong-un that there is no plan to overthrow him.
In a televised speech before leaving for Tokyo, President Duterte said the United States, Japan, China and South Korea should sit down with the North Korean leader to address the regime's weapons development and missile tests. "Tell Kim Jong-un that no one threatens him and there will be no war," Duterte stressed.

The Philippine leader said he would discuss the regional threat posed by North Korea during a meeting with Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe today, October 30.
In addition, during his first visit to Japan in a year, Mr. Duterte will seek Tokyo's support in rebuilding Marawi City, which was severely damaged in fighting between government forces and IS-linked militants.
According to President Duterte, North Korea will be at the top of the agenda when the leaders of the four countries meet with their Southeast Asian counterparts in Manila next November./.
