According to RIA Novosti on June 25, French President Emmanuel Macron said that he will continue dialogue with Russian leader Vladimir Putin, emphasizing that he does not rule out the possibility of having a conversation with President Putin on this or that topic.

“I believe in the power of dialogue and I will continue to dialogue with President Vladimir Putin... There has been no dialogue in the past few months, but I am not afraid to dialogue on one topic or another, including on the nuclear power plant issue or on another. But, to be honest, I think it is always important to continue dialogue,” President Macron said on the podcast Génération Do It Yourself (GDIY).

At the same time, the French leader did not explain what he meant by referring to nuclear power plants.

In an interview with France 2 in March 2024, President Macron dismissed the assumption that President Putin had cooled down in their relationship. Mr. Macron recalled that, when the conflict in Ukraine began, he had several phone conversations with the Russian President.

Earlier, President Putin said that Russia was ready to continue interacting with France and have better communication with President Macron, but the French leader cut those ties.
