At the plenary session of the Valdai Discussion Club, the President of the Russian Federation said that Moscow does not need to launch a nuclear attack on Ukraine. Mr. Putin called on those who believe that Russia could use nuclear weapons to carefully read Russia's military doctrine.
"I think if he doesn't intend to, why does he continue to talk about it? Why does he talk about the possibility of using tactical nuclear weapons? He's very dangerous in his approach to this issue. He could end all of that by withdrawing from Ukraine," President Biden said in an interview with Newsnation television channel.
Earlier, when asked to comment on Biden's interview in which he said that President Putin cannot continue to talk about the use of tactical nuclear weapons without being punished, Russian President's Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov said that the daily exercises by the US and European countries when making statements about nuclear weapons are a dangerous and provocative act, and affirmed that the Russian Federation will not participate in this activity./.
