During a talk with students who achieved high results in international Olympiads in the 2017-2018 school year at the Sirius Education Center, answering the question about which profession will become the "hottest" in the future, the Russian leader said:
"We cannot confirm with absolute accuracy. However, in reality, we have visited and built many laboratories and high-tech zones, and believe that these high-quality laboratories will train talented experts for the fields with the highest demand in the future."
"The high-tech industry will become an industry with great demand for human resources with typical fields such as artificial intelligence, robot invention, underwater and land unmanned vehicles or any unmanned vehicles. High technology becomes an important "link", connecting with many other industries such as biology, agriculture..." - President Putin said.
President Putin believes that the boundaries between fields will be erased, replaced by connections, and it is those working at those "intersections" who will achieve the best results.
However, Mr. Putin also noted that saying so does not mean that the demand for human resources in fields such as law or economics will "disappear", because for a long time, these have been the most popular professions in Russia.
"With the current trend, everything will be more strictly controlled, there will be no mass training, and the number of trained human resources in these two fields will continue to meet the needs of the labor market," President Putin affirmed.
"I repeat, we need to understand what kind of human resources the labor market needs. And if we train specialists just because we think it is easy to become a lawyer or an economist, while it is difficult to become a good mathematician or a talented engineer, then that is the wrong reference point," President Putin emphasized.
