President Putin: Russian Navy's nuclear forces increase in strength

According to TASS on July 27, in a video message on the occasion of Russian Navy Day, President Vladimir Putin said that Russia is strengthening the capabilities of its nuclear submarine group and the naval component of nuclear forces in general.

“The naval component of Russia's nuclear triad is strengthening. The navy, based on a group of nuclear submarines, is confidently exploiting and developing its potential,” President Putin said.

The Russian leader noted the completion of the construction of the cruiser "Prince Pozharsky". He also pointed out that at different stages of creation there are 2 submarines of the "Borey-A" project and 6 multipurpose nuclear submarines of the "Yasen-M" project.

Congratulating the Navy on the occasion of the holiday, President Putin affirmed that Russia is a great maritime power, with many glories and outstanding scientific achievements, ready to face difficulties. The President noted that, since the time of Peter the Great I, the fleet has been and remains “the property and pride of Russia and the representatives of the naval class deserve special honor and sincere respect of the Russian people”.
