President Putin: The US cannot stop “Nord Stream 2”
The US is fighting against Nord Stream 2, but the system is beneficial for Europe, Russian President Vladimir Putin said at the Arctic Forum.

"Then take Nord Stream 2, our American friends are fighting against it, but it is clearly beneficial for European partners," Russian President Putin said.
The Russian leader added that it is difficult to work with the European Union, where there are many countries and everything is almost agreed upon. However, Russia and Türkiye have already built the "Turkish Stream" under the Black Sea.
"It started working at the end of this year, but until now, with the Europeans we still cannot agree," President Putin said during a discussion at the plenary session of the Arctic Forum.
The Russian president believes that the same was true of our American partners in the sixties. "In general, the 'gas for pipes' project that we did with the Federal Republic of Germany is exactly the same. The same is true with 'Nord Stream 1,'" President Putin said.
"If there were no Nord Stream 1, what would happen to the international energy industry now? I can tell you - prices would be even higher than today," - the Russian President added.
