President Putin has issued a directive on the adoption of the Foreign Policy Doctrine.

The Russian Foreign Ministry is tasked with taking steps to translate the doctrine into geopolitical practice.

"A well-thought-out document that will form the basis for our practical actions in the medium and long term," Putin said during a meeting with permanent members of the Russian Federation Security Council via video conference.

"In our long-term action plan, it is important to take into account all factors and trends in the development of international relations, to work towards strengthening Russia's sovereignty, to enhance our country's role in solving world problems and to shape a more equitable multipolar world order," the Russian President stressed.

Meanwhile, Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov affirmed: "The clear idea is that we are not isolating ourselves from the Anglo-Saxon countries and continental Europe, we do not have initially hostile intentions towards them. However, they must realize that practical interaction with Russia is possible only if they realize the futility of a confrontational policy and on the condition of abandoning this policy with practical actions. We will make decisions in accordance with how ready the West is to follow these recommendations."

The new foreign policy doctrine assumes that unfriendly steps towards Russia will be firmly stopped if necessary.

"The main initiator and leader of the anti-Russian line is directly stated to be the United States of America, and in general, the Western policy aimed at comprehensively weakening Russia is defined as a hybrid war of a new type," the Russian Foreign Minister stressed.

About the New Doctrine

- Russia always seeks to ensure equal security for all countries on the basis of the principle of reciprocity.

- Russia does not consider itself an enemy of the West and does not isolate itself from the West, has no hostile intentions towards the West, which stems from the new Doctrine of Russian foreign policy.

- The main project of the Russian Federation is to turn the Eurasian continent into a unified world space.

- Russia considers the US line to be the fundamental source of anti-Russian policy and of risks to international security, peace, and the balanced and equitable development of humanity.

- Russia can use armed force to repel and prevent attacks against itself and its allies.

- It is especially important for Russia to comprehensively strengthen relations and coordination with China and India.

- The Russian Federation is interested in maintaining strategic balance, peaceful coexistence with the United States and establishing a balance of interests between Russia and the United States, taking into account the status of the two countries as the largest nuclear powers, bearing special responsibility for strategic stability and the state of international security in general.

- The prospects for such Russian-American relations depend on the readiness of the United States to abandon its policy of domination by force and modify its anti-Russian line in favor of interaction with Russia based on the principles of sovereign equality, mutual benefit and respect for each other's interests.
