President Putin says supporters of a unipolar world are 'shooting themselves in the foot'

"Really profound changes are taking place on the international stage. More and more countries are pursuing independent and autonomous domestic and foreign policies and adhering to their own development model," Russian President Putin said, asserting that "supporters of a unipolar world are 'shooting themselves in the foot'."

President Putin stressed that significant changes are also taking place in the international financial sector. "And Russia has not only managed to adapt well, but has also become one of the leaders in these trends," Putin said.

According to the Russian leader, decentralization of the global financial system will lead to "depoliticization of the economic sphere."

Referring to the dynamics of economic relations between the member states of the EAEU (Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan), Russian President Putin commented that pessimistic forecasts related to the global financial crisis have not come true.

"The numbers speak for themselves. Despite the large-scale global economic and trade crisis and increased geopolitical risks, the EAEU's total GDP in 2022 will decrease, but only by 1.6%, which is quite different from the predictions of Western experts when they proposed a collapse scenario. Such a situation has not happened, and it clearly will not happen," Russian President Putin analyzed.

Moscow increasingly attaches importance to creating new and sustainable logistics routes, accelerating the development of relations both within and outside the EAEU.
