President Trump: US Navy is superior to Russia and China in submarines
President Donald Trump said the US is 25 years ahead of Russia and China in submarines.

According to RIA Novosti, US President Donald Trump declared on September 30 (Washington time) that the US Navy is significantly superior to Russia and China in terms of the number of submarines.
"We are 25 years ahead of Russia and China in submarines. Russia is second to the United States," President Donald Trump said while addressing senior officers of the US Armed Forces at the Marine Corps base in Quantico, Virginia.
The US submarine fleet currently has 71 nuclear-powered submarines.
President Donald Trump confirmed that he has sent a submarine to the coast of Russia.
"I deployed one or two, I didn't say two, submarines. And that's just a precaution," President Trump said.
Mr Trump said the decision was made because of the mention of nuclear weapons. He also expressed hope that the use of these weapons would not be necessary.
Previously, in August 2025, President Donald Trump said he had ordered the deployment of two nuclear submarines to "relevant areas", following statements considered "extremely provocative" by Russian Security Council Vice Chairman Dmitry Medvedev.
The Kremlin believes that the fact that US submarines continuously carry out combat missions is obvious.
