"The relationship with China is going well. As for the possibility of a deal - time will tell. We have a very good friendship," the White House boss said.
President Donald Trump added that he and Chinese President Xi Jinping had "achieved a lot" ahead of their bilateral meeting on the sidelines of the G20 Summit.
According to the schedule, on June 29, the leaders of the US and China will have a highly anticipated bilateral meeting, not only creating a foundation for the relationship between the two countries, but also affecting the world. The two leaders will discuss a series of issues, with the top priority being trade.
Not only China is under pressure from the trade war, but American businesses are also suffering losses. In recent months, Beijing and Washington have conducted many negotiations to resolve trade disputes. However, all efforts seem to have reached a deadlock. On May 10, the US continued to impose additional tariffs on Chinese products, worth 200 billion USD. In response to this move, in early June, China also imposed tariffs of 60 billion USD on more than 5,000 American products.
