President Donald Trump said he was honored to welcome the Vietnamese Prime Minister to the White House.
Speaking to the press in the Oval Office before the talks, President Donald Trump said he was honored to welcome Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc to the White House.
"The Prime Minister did a fantastic job. And we have a lot to talk about.
We will discuss many issues from trade cooperation to the North Korea issue...," President Donald Trump said.
Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc spoke to the press to thank President Donald Trump for inviting him to pay an official visit to the United States.
Sending the Vietnamese people's warmest regards to the American people, the Prime Minister affirmed that the Vietnam-US relationship has had ups and downs in history but is now a comprehensive partner.
"I am very impressed with President Donald Trump's friendliness and openness. He called us and sent us letters. I firmly believe that our talks this afternoon will be a great success, contributing to the development of Vietnam and the United States, on the basis of mutual respect and equality, for the peace and development of ASEAN, the Asia-Pacific region and the world," the Prime Minister emphasized.
The Prime Minister also said that Vietnam is pleased to welcome President Donald Trump to Vietnam on the occasion of his attendance at the APEC summit and respectfully invites President Donald Trump to pay an official visit to Vietnam on this occasion.
