In a statement this morning, President Trump said he may resume campaigning tomorrow, after his personal doctors deemed it safe to resume public activities: “My doctors say I am in excellent health. I will likely hold a rally tomorrow night, possibly in Florida or Pennsylvania. I am in excellent health. I will likely be tested for Covid-19 today.”
To avoid an online debate, President Trump's side has proposed that the October 15 debate be postponed for a week. However, Mr. Biden's campaign has rejected the proposal, asserting that Mr. Trump has no authority to adjust the debate schedule.
Former Vice President Biden also announced that he would not debate until Mr. Trump recovered from Covid-19: "I don't know exactly what condition Mr. Trump is in. I look forward to debating him, but we have to fully comply with the necessary medical regulations. If Mr. Trump is still infected,Covid-19,I think we should cancel the debate.”
The disagreement between the two sides is raising questions about the fate of the second debate on October 15. President Donald Trump has every right to refuse to participate in the debate. In 1980, former US President Jimmy Carter also refused to participate in the first debate, but continued to participate in the second debate. Therefore, the decision to debate or not depends on each presidential candidate. However, according to experts, President Trump will not miss an important opportunity at the current election sprint. White House medical experts also announced yesterday that the US leader responded well to Covid-19 treatment and could resume campaign activities from October 10.
According to some comments, President Trump's Covid-19 infection at this time is giving the candidate an advantage.Joe Biden. Politically, if Mr. Trump skips a debate, he will lose an opportunity to further convince voters ahead of the election. Meanwhile, his attempt to re-emerge in public could have the opposite effect of a president who is recklessly disregarding the health risks of his people in the face of a pandemic that has engulfed the United States.
However, some people believe that Trump’s rapid recovery is a clear demonstration to American voters of his long-held view that Covid-19 is not too dangerous and that the virus must be lived with. The storm is just before the election and how the US leader deals with it may decide whether Trump will continue to win another 4-year term as the US leader or not./.
