US President Donald Trump said he plans to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin and initiate a new package of sanctions against Moscow.

According to RIA Novosti on September 8, US President Donald Trump announced plans to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
"It will be soon. Within the next few days" – President Trump answered reporters when asked about this issue.
However, the US leader did not specify what the topic of their conversation would be.
Meanwhile, according to President Trump, leaders of several European countries will come to Washington early this week to discuss a peace deal for Ukraine.
"We are having very interesting discussions. A number of European leaders will be visiting our country on their own schedule on Monday and Tuesday," the US leader said.
Along with that, Mr. Trump said he was ready to start a second round of sanctions against Russia related to the conflict in Ukraine.
"Yes," President Trump affirmed when answering the question about sanctions against Russia.
Earlier, on September 4, President Trump said he had “phase two and phase three” options for Moscow if he felt the pace of negotiations to resolve the conflict in Ukraine was not fast enough.
Referring to India's imposition of a 50% duty on crude oil purchased from Russia, the US President said that Moscow had lost hundreds of billions of dollars because of his decision.
