Ukrainian President Calls on US to Immediately Impose Sanctions on Russia

“The Ukrainian president has been very clear that sanctions against the Nord Stream 2 project must be imposed now. Any sanctions against this project or other sanctions, if even intended, are useless (for Kiev),” Axios quoted a source familiar with the matter as saying.
According to the source, the Ukrainian side expressed the view that if sanctions depend on the possibility of future escalation, "they will only be neutral and even have the effect of encouraging (Russian President Vladimir) Putin".
