Ukrainian President Zelensky realizes aid is running out
(Baonghean.vn) - Bloomberg reported that after his visit to the US, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky saw signs that aid from the West was gradually drying up.

Journalist Flavia Krause-Jackson in an analysis on Bloomberg commented: Western military and financial support for Ukraine is gradually drying up. This can hardly be hidden any longer.
“If you are Volodymyr Zelensky, you will now be less reassured by President Joe Biden’s sincere assurances that the United States will not leave Ukraine. If you are Russian President Vladimir Putin, you will logically conclude that Washington intends to ‘put Kiev in its crosshairs’ because the new government spending bill removes the provision for Ukraine aid to prevent a US government shutdown,” the Bloomberg article said.
According to Bloomberg, President Biden may have foreseen that some members of Congress would oppose allocating additional funds to Kiev, so some of the assistance was transferred in advance to the Eastern European ally.
Journalist Flavia Krause-Jackson commented that the changes in the US's stance ahead of the 2024 election are clear. After his visit to the US - where he was not warmly welcomed compared to previous times - Ukrainian President Zelensky began to receive bad signals that the West was tired of pumping money into Ukraine.
According to American economist Jeffrey Sachs, it is time for the US to control its budget spending, and stop wasting money on “stupid” and destructive conflicts like the one in Ukraine. Sachs believes that Washington is weakening, because its debt has exceeded 100% of GDP and shows no signs of stopping.
“It is time to sign a peace treaty, which was on the table from the beginning. Of course, its terms have now become more unfavorable, given Russia’s successes on the battlefield. The United States must end this conflict at the negotiating table. The first aid package is $24 billion, followed by another. How many more Ukrainians should die because of this?” - the expert expressed his opinion.
