President Zelensky threatens to sue the EU in international court
(Baonghean.vn) - Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky threatened to sue the European Union (EU) in international court if it continues to extend the ban on grain imports.

“Ukraine is categorically against any restrictions on its grain exports,” President Zelensky said at the Three Seas Initiative Summit in Romania.
The EU should “calmly consider” how its grain is becoming a “good source of income” for some European countries, the Ukrainian leader said.
Addressing the European Commission, President Zelensky said that “the foundation of Europe” is free competition and “keeping promises.” According to him, Kiev does not interfere with competition, but will not “calmly accept the violation of the promises that Europe made to Kiev,” including the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the EU.
“We need to fight for Ukraine and the foundations of Europe in the Arbitration Courts, even if we do not want to. And if we need to fight on the foundations of international organizations, we will fight too,” President Zelensky said.
In early September, Bloomberg quoted Igor Zhovkva – Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, that Kiev would challenge any European Commission grain import ban on grain imports from Ukraine to EU countries.
Earlier, Polish Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Robert Telus said that Poland, Slovakia, Bulgaria, Hungary and Romania will appeal to the European Commission with a request to extend the ban on grain imports from Ukraine, which expires on September 15.
The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry said the Kiev government completely disagrees with such a plan, calling on EU leaders to find a “balanced solution”.
