Honda RC213V-S, Aprilia RSV4, Ducati Desmosedici RR are among the best V4 engine models ever in the motorcycle industry.

There are many types of motorcycle engines, but the V4 cylinder layout provides the best engine performance, often used on high-performance vehicles.

Here are the top V4 models of all time.

1. Honda RC213V-S

Honda RC213V-S is the commercial version of the RC213V super horse that Marc Marquez and Dani Pedrosa rode in the MotoGP race. This is also one of the most expensive commercial vehicles in the world today.

In the street version, Honda has removed some features of the RC213V but still ensures the quality of a racing car such as an ultra-light aluminum frame, carbon fiber fairing, advanced electronics and high-performance brakes and shock absorbers.

The Honda RC213V-S has a 90-degree V4 engine with a capacity of 1,000 cc. The RC213V-S is produced in different power versions for each market, such as the version for the US market with a capacity of only 101 horsepower, but the European version is up to 157 horsepower, not to mention the $12,000 power package to reach 212 horsepower.

Only 250 Honda RC213V-S were produced with a price of about 184,000 USD in the US market. This price is considered unreasonably expensive but completely worth it with a series of MotoGP technologies applied to this model.

2. Ducati Desmosedici RR

In January 2008, Ducati began selling the Desmosedici RR, the street version of the MotoGP racing bike - Desmosedici GP. Basically, the design of the Desmosedici RR is almost identical to the racing version Desmosedici GP, only with the addition of a pair of front headlights, turn signals and taillights to be able to circulate on the street.

The Desmosedici RR uses a 989 cc V4 engine, instead of the L-Twin engine like other normal Ducati models. This engine block produces 197.3 horsepower and maximum torque of 116 Nm.

3. Aprilia RSV4 FW-GP

Since 2009, Aprilia RSV4 has been the most successful racing superbike family with 7 world superbike titles. Following that success, Aprilia has launched the super product Aprilia RSV4 FW-GP 2017.

The RSV4 FW-GP has a 65-degree, 999.6 cc V4 engine that uses pneumatic valves similar to the engine on the MotoGP RS-GP 15 racing car. This engine can produce up to more than 250 horsepower.

Aprilia RSV4 FW-GP customers will receive a set of Aprilia Racing leather protective gear.

4. Yamaha V-max

In the early 80s, the Yamaha V-max was born with the idea of "a powerful motorcycle that accelerates extremely fast in a straight line". The Yamaha Vmax also inspired famous models such as the BMW R1200C and Harley Davidson V-Rod.

It has a muscular design with the V-Boost system, which is 4 large air intakes on both sides of the fuel tank - like a barcode of the V-max. The V-Boost system helps increase the power of the V-max thanks to more natural air intake.

The Yamaha V-max has a diamond-shaped aluminum frame that helps reduce weight and increase the vehicle's rigidity. The vehicle is equipped with a 1,679 cc liquid-cooled, 16-valve DOHC V4 engine with electronic fuel injection, producing 200 horsepower at 9,000 rpm and maximum torque of 167 Nm at 6,500 rpm.

Yamaha also brings racing technology to the V-max to optimize the efficiency of fuel entering the cylinder such as: the electronic throttle control system YCC-T (Yamaha Chip Controlled-Throttle) and the intelligent fuel intake system YCC-I (Yamaha Chip Controlled-Intake).

5. Suter MMX 500
