Possessing powerful engines of up to thousands of horsepower, this series of supercars is expensive, from tens of billions to hundreds of billions of VND when arriving in Vietnam. They are owned by notorious car enthusiasts such as Dang Le Nguyen Vu, Hoang Kim Khanh...

In Vietnam, road conditions make many people think that high-performance cars do not fully utilize their capabilities. In fact, supercars, hypercars or megacars (with power over 1 megawatt) are still favored by Vietnamese enthusiasts and sought to buy at not cheap prices.

Below are the top 5 supercar models using the most powerful engine blocks that have arrived in Vietnam.

1. Koenigsegg Regera: 1,500 horsepower

Appearing in Vietnam since early 2022, the Koenigsegg Regera of tycoon Hoang Kim Khanh once surprised everyone when it revealed its value of up to nearly 200 billion VND despite having a Cambodian license plate. At the time of its launch, the Regera had a starting price of 1.9 million USD. This megacar model is limited to only 80 units worldwide, so its value increases over time.

Koenigsegg Regera uses a 5.0L V8 engine with a capacity of 1,100 horsepower, combined with three electric motors with a capacity of 700 horsepower. The total capacity of the car is up to more than 1,500 horsepower and a maximum torque of 2,000 Nm. This power helps the supercar reach a maximum speed of 440 km/h and the ability to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 2.8 seconds.

2. Tesla Model S Plaid: 1,020 horsepower

Up to now, there have been 2 Tesla Model S Plaid cars in Vietnam. First launched in 2020, this electric car has attracted attention for its power and acceleration that even hypercars and megacars can hardly match. The after-tax value of the car is estimated to be no less than 9 billion VND.

Powering the Tesla Model S Plaid are three electric motors, producing a maximum capacity of 1,020 horsepower. Thanks to that, the car can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in just 2.1 seconds. The maximum speed is also up to 321 km/h - a parameter showing that this car is not inferior to supercars. A fully charged Tesla Model S Plaid can travel from 560 - 637 km.

3. Bugatti Veyron: 1,000 horsepower

Returning to Vietnam in 2012 and currently owned by Mr. Dang Le Nguyen Vu - Chairman of Trung Nguyen Group, the unique Bugatti Veyron is currently rumored to be worth 50 billion VND. After more than a decade in Vietnam, the supercar is still rarely seen on the streets and mainly appears in major events of this coffee and tourism group.

The 8.0-liter W16 engine on the French hypercar produces 1,000 horsepower and 1,200 Nm of torque, combined with an 8-speed automatic transmission. With this performance, the Veyron can reach 100 km/h from a standstill in just 2.5 seconds before reaching a maximum speed of 407 km/h.

4. Ferrari SF90: 986 horsepower

Ferrari SF90 is currently sold in the Vietnamese market with two versions: Stradale (hardtop) and Spider (convertible). The selling price for the Stradale version announced by the official distributor is 32 billion VND. Currently, there are about 3 Stradale versions and 2 Spider versions rolling in Vietnam, but only one has a white license plate.

As a supercar that erases the line between hypercar and supercar, the Ferrari SF90 has impressive performance when combining a twin-turbocharged 4.0L V8 engine and 3 electric motors for a total capacity of 986 horsepower. Similar to the Bugatti Veyron, this supercar can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 2.5 seconds. However, the maximum speed is only 340 km/h.

5. Porsche 918 Spyder: 886 horsepower

Despite its selling price in foreign markets of more than 1 million USD (equivalent to about 23.45 billion VND), there are still 2 German hypercar models on the road in Vietnam, one of which belongs to Mr. Dang Le Nguyen Vu and the other is owned by a notorious car enthusiast in Saigon.

The Porsche 918 Spyder also uses a hybrid powertrain, combining a 4.6L naturally aspirated petrol engine with two electric motors, producing 886 horsepower and 1,245 Nm of torque. However, the car still needs 2.8 seconds to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h and the maximum speed is only 345 km/h. The German car company only produces a limited number of 918 918 Spyders worldwide.
