The Toyota Camry is considered the most purely American car.

Interestingly, the Toyota Camry is considered the most "purely American" car, rather than those from General Motors, Chrysler, or Ford.

According to Cars.com's American-Made Index, the 2015 Toyota Camry, manufactured in Georgetown, Kentucky, and Lafayette, Indiana, is the car with the most parts made in the United States, surpassing other American-made vehicles.

Toyota also secured second place with its Sienna minivan, also manufactured in Indiana. The Honda Odyssey, Sienna's competitor, also made the list.

One notable change is that the Ford F-150, last year's top-ranked model, didn't even make the list this year because the 2015 version didn't meet the criterion of having more than 75% of its components manufactured in the U.S.

General Motors is the only representative on the list with its trio of SUVs.

In fact, General Motors is the only representative on the list with its trio of SUVs: Chevrolet Traverse, GMC Acadia, and Buick Enclave, alongside the Chevrolet Corvette supercar. This is also the first year that only 7 models have met the 75% standard, the lowest since Cars.com began its survey 9 years ago.
