'Toyota joins hands to green schools' by planting 1,000 trees in Nghe An
(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of April 11, the General Department of Environment coordinated with the Department of Education and Training and Toyota Vietnam Automobile Company to organize the program 'Toyota joins hands to green schools'.

The program “Toyota joins hands to green schools” is an activity that the General Department of Environment in collaboration with Toyota Vietnam Automobile Company first implemented in 2017 with a total of 1,000 trees planted in 8 primary and secondary schools in the North, Central and South. In Nghe An, the program was implemented in 3 secondary schools: Nghi Van, Nghi Trung (Nghi Loc) and Nam Giang (Nam Dan) with 300 black star trees.

Speaking at the ceremony, a representative of the General Department of Environment, Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment said: Vietnam is facing many problems in managing, developing natural resources and protecting the environment; affected by climate change, the area of primeval forests is increasingly shrinking. Therefore, the act of planting trees and protecting forests has become both an urgent task and has long-term strategic significance in minimizing the impact of climate change and environmental pollution.

With the slogan “Planting one more tree is one more action to protect the environment”, the representative of the General Department of Environment also hopes that this program will create a strong movement across the country. Thereby, it aims to propagate and educate to raise awareness, role and responsibility of the community, especially youth, teenagers and students in environmental protection, natural resources protection and forest development.
