The first Toyota Fortuner 2016 in Vietnam appeared in the parking lot

After launching in the Thai market last July, the all-new Fortuner generation with a sporty design suddenly appeared in a parking lot in Saigon.

Carrying a foreign license plate, many people are waiting and wondering when the car will officially reach users in the S-shaped strip of land.

Compared to its predecessor, the Toyota Fortuner 2016 has been redesigned with the front of the car somewhat borrowed from the luxury car Leuxs RX 350, a large grille, bright chrome horizontal bars, a large air intake on the hood, a front bumper that protrudes forward, connected to 2 fog lights, a pair of reverse-blade headlights with LED daytime running lights.

The car has a wheelbase of 2,750mm, length of 4,795mm, width of 1,855mm, height of 1,835mm, ground clearance of 225mm and fuel tank capacity of 80 liters.

The interior of the 2016 Fortuner has a 3-spoke steering wheel instead of a 4-spoke one, and the center console is also reduced in size, with a Start/Stop button, smart key, electronic trunk opening, 7 airbags, and 2 rows of rear seats that can be folded to increase storage capacity. The entertainment system includes a 7-inch touch screen with DVD drive, USB/AUX connection, and 6 speakers.

Finally, the 2.7-liter gasoline engine is lighter and comes with Dual VVT-I variable valve timing system, maximum capacity of 166 horsepower at 5,200 rpm and maximum torque of 245 Nm at 4,000 rpm. It is not yet clear which engine version the car appearing in Vietnam belongs to.

However, in Thailand, Toyota Fortuner 2016 is equipped with 2 new GD turbocharged diesel engine options. The first is a 2.8 liter engine, with a capacity of 177 horsepower at 3,400 rpm and maximum torque of 450 Nm at 1,600-2,400 rpm.

The second is the 2.4 liter engine version, with a capacity of 150 horsepower at 3,400 rpm and maximum torque of 400 Nm at 1,600 - 2,000 rpm.

The car still has foreign license plates.

The engine is mated to a 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic transmission with steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters. There is also an optional 4-wheel drive system.

Vehicle safety equipment includes ABS anti-lock braking system, electronic brake force distribution, brake assist BA, vehicle stability control, hill descent control, emergency light system.
