Toyota Hilux 2018 design changes similar to Tacoma

Toyota has just introduced the 2018 Hilux in the Thai market, but has not announced specific prices.

Toyota has just launched a new version of the Hilux pickup truck in Thailand, just 2 years after the 8th generation was launched. The innovation on the 2018 Hilux focuses on design and adding more version options.

The front design is inspired by the company's Tacoma pickup truck. The commonality can be found through the hexagonal grille, which is stronger and more powerful. The lower air intake and fog lights are also redesigned.

However, not all variants receive a visual upgrade. The change is only available on the 4x4 and the high-end Prerunner 4x4. The remaining low-end versions such as the 4x2 still have a similar appearance to the old version, the only new points are the black-painted grille and front bumper guard.

The interior remains unchanged. In terms of equipment, customers can choose LED headlights, LED fog lights, smart key, Start/Stop button, cruise control, electric seats, rear air-conditioning vents or a 220V charging port in the center console. Safety includes 7 airbags and electronic stability control as standard.

In addition, Toyota also introduced the highest-end version Rocco, only available in double-cab configuration, 2.8G engine, 4x2 or 4x4 drive. The difference includes a matte gray grille border, black borders, smoked headlights, 18-inch black wheels, ... The interior is dominated by black.

Toyota Hilux continues to offer 3 engine options. The 2.4L turbodiesel engine produces 150 horsepower at 3,400 rpm and 400 Nm of torque at 1,600-2,000 rpm. 6-speed automatic transmission.

The 2.8L engine produces 177 horsepower at 3,400 rpm and 450 Nm of torque at 1,600-2,400 rpm. Meanwhile, the 2.7L Dual VVT-i engine produces 166 horsepower at 5,200 rpm and 245 Nm of torque at 4,000 rpm. 5-speed manual or 6-speed automatic transmission options.

Currently the selling price of Toyota Hilux 2018 has not been announced.
