Since the fourth generation of the Land Cruiser SUV was launched in 2009, this is only the second time the Japanese automaker has changed the vehicle's design.

Toyota Land Cruiser Prado is currently in its 4th generation, first launched in 2009. In 2015, the company launched a major upgrade version of Prado and in the near future, the 2018 Toyota Land Cruiser Prado will continue to be improved by Toyota, with not much breakthrough changes compared to the current version.

In the new version, the Prado 2018 model has been completely redesigned with a more modern and elegant front end, the 5-bar grille has been changed to be more elegant. The fog lights are rectangular instead of round lights in the 2014 version. Overall, the front of the car has a more square design.

While the front of the car is completely new, the rear of the 2018 Prado is almost identical to the current version. You have to look closely to see that the car has darker taillights and a slightly changed rear bumper. Completing the new exterior features are new alloy wheels.

Not only the exterior has been upgraded, the interior of the 2018 Prado is also very different. The car uses a 4-spoke steering wheel similar to the Land Cruiser 200. The center console is also similar. The difference in the interior this time is the imitation metal details instead of the wood paneling details on the previous version.

The 2018 Land Cruiser Prado will be equipped with the Toyota Safety Sense P system, which includes a pre-collision system, lane departure warning, pedestrian detection, start assist, and radar-based active cruise control. These equipment will vary depending on the market. However, the Safety Sense P package will only be equipped in some key markets.

There is currently no information on whether the 2018 Prado version has any differences in engine or not, but it is possible that this SUV model will still use the old engine versions. Customers can choose one of the following engine types: 2.7l 2TR-FE gasoline, 3.5l V6 7GR-FKS gasoline, 4.0l 1GR-FE gasoline, 2.8l 1GD-FTV 4-cylinder diesel, 3.0l 4-cylinder diesel 1KD-FTV and 3.0l 5L-E 4-cylinder diesel.

Combined with these engines is a part-time 4-wheel drive system with the ability to engage a bridge. Depending on the version, the car will be equipped with a 5-speed manual transmission, 6-speed manual transmission or 4, 5 or 6-speed automatic transmission.

Some Japanese news sites say that the Land Cruiser Prado 2018 is expected to be introduced by Toyota in the Japanese market next September.
