Toyota Raize price increased, if you want to buy, you have to wait 1 year to get the car

Recently, many customers have expressed their frustration with Toyota’s continuous price increase of the Raize model. Some customers said that even though they signed a purchase contract several months in advance, they had to pay the new price when they picked up the car.

Mr. Ngo Tuan (Viet Tri City) ordered a Toyota Raize in January 2022 for 527 million VND. At the end of July, the dealer informed him that the car was available, but the price was 20 million VND higher than when he ordered it. Mr. Tuan said this was unacceptable, because when he ordered the car, the dealer did not inform him that the car's price would increase over time.

According to Mr. Tuan, some dealers also have a policy that customers must buy additional accessories with the car if they want to receive the car early.

Explaining this, a sales staff at Toyota My Dinh said that when customers deposit money for a Toyota Raize, it is only a purchase contract, not a sales contract. Therefore, the actual price of the car will change when the customer receives the car and makes a sales contract.

According to this employee, the price of Toyota Raize imported from Indonesia is currently higher than before. Toyota Raize has 8 versions, of which the most popular are the 2 versions Raize 1.0T GR Sport and Raize 1.0T GR Sport TSS...

In Vietnam, only 1 version with different color tones is temporarily imported. The price is 547 million for black, red and 555 million for turquoise/black, gold/black, pearl, white/black, red/black.

According to the salesperson, at this time, customers who deposit a car will have to wait until June 2023 to receive the car. And it is not enough to just deposit, but must submit it to the superiors, and if approved, then a purchase contract will be made. This, according to the salesperson's explanation, is "to avoid affecting the customer's car delivery progress".

The reason for the shortage of new car models comes from the disruption of the global supply chain of chips and auto parts due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, especially the recent Ukraine crisis, which has made the supply chain even more difficult... Many car manufacturers do not have enough components and chips for assembly, so factories have to temporarily stop production. This leads to a shortage of cars, with supply not meeting demand.

However, the salesman also gave a tip to customers so that they could quickly own the Raize. That is, buying back the deposits of customers who had pre-ordered. However, customers will have to accept a difference of 25-30 million VND.

"If agreed, the dealer's staff will help the customer find someone to "pass" the deposit back. The customer can get the car within 1-2 months," the staff said.

In addition to Toyota Raize, customers can refer to some B-class high-chassis vehicles in the same segment such as Kia Sonet, Hyundai Kona, MG ZS.
