The one-time imported car star Venza, after more than 7 years of use, has the same price as a new Mazda CX-5.

2009 was the golden age of Toyota Venza in the US market with sales up toup to 54,000 vehicles.Right in Vietnam, the Japanese car company's wagon-shaped crossover model also creates great attraction with domestic consumers.

In the current used car market, the 2009-2010 Toyota Venza has a price range of 900 million to 1 billion VND or more, depending on the quality of the interior, exterior and the number of kilometers traveled.

A used 2009 Venza imported from the US equipped with a 2.7 liter engine, 6-speed automatic transmission, and over 60,000 km is for sale at VND 1.05 billion in Saigon. The car is equipped with leather seats, electric adjustment for the front row, start/stop, electric trunk, DVD screen, multi-function steering wheel.

According to some used car dealerships in Ho Chi Minh City, Venza used to "sell like hotcakes" but was quickly forgotten due to import restrictions, with a rather high price of around 1.7 to 1.8 billion. At the same time, the market expanded with many new products and more diverse designs.

So after more than 7 years of use, the Venza has lost nearly half its value. For about 1 billion, consumers now have many options to own a new car in the sedan segment such as the Honda Civic, a small SUV like the Mazda CX-5 and a pickup truck like the Ford Ranger.

The car offers two options.Engine: 2.7 liter inline 4-cylinder, integrated Dual VVT-i technology, 182 horsepower, maximum torque of 247 Nm.The second is a higher-end version equipped with a 3.5-liter V6 engine, 268 horsepower, maximum torque of 334 Nm. 6-speed automatic transmission for both versions.

"Toyota Venza imported to Vietnam the most in 2009-2010, mainly the high-end version using 2.7-liter engine. Because if buying the regular version, most buyers choose Camry instead of Venza", said a representative of a used car salon on Cong Hoa Street, Tan Binh District. This shop just sold a used 2009 Toyota Venza last April for 950 million VND.

The advantages of the Venza, according to the private car import business, are its sturdy design, spacious interior and fuel consumption not much higher than the Camry. The car is suitable for both personal and family use and the important thing is its ability to retain its value when resold.

The selling price of used Toyota Venza is currently about 50 to 100 million VND lower than before Tet. "New cars are being imported into Vietnam more and more, domestic manufacturers are constantly reducing prices to stimulate demand, we have to reduce prices too. If new cars are reduced in price but used cars are not reduced, who will buy them?" said the owner of a car showroom on Pham Hung Street, District 8.

After a few years of launch, Toyota discontinued the Venza due to a sharp decline in sales. Therefore, buyers of used Venza in Vietnam may encounter a shortage of spare parts when damaged. Updating and repairing is also more difficult than other models of the same generation.
