New Toyota Vios suddenly appeared on the streets in Vietnam

The Toyota Vios facelift 2017 appearing in Vietnam is equipped with right-hand drive, so the car is certainly not privately imported from the Thai market. Compared to the version currently sold in Vietnam, the Toyota Vios facelift 2017 version is very different in design, the car was introduced in Thailand last year with 4 versions 1.5J, 1.5E, 1.5G and the high-end version 1.5S.

The 2017 Toyota Vios facelift version launched in the Thai market is very similar to the Vios version for the Chinese market that was launched at the Beijing exhibition in 2016. The front of the car stands out with a grille reminiscent of its "senior" Toyota Camry 2018 for the North American market.

On the high-end version, the car is equipped with new projector headlights integrated with LED lights, using multi-spoke alloy wheels measuring 15 and 16 inches depending on the version.

All variants for the Thai market use the 2NR-FBE 1.5L Dual VVT-i inline-4 engine, producing a maximum capacity of 108 horsepower at 6,000 rpm and maximum torque of 140 Nm at 4,200 rpm.

The 2017 Toyota Vios facelift version is old, Toyota has launched the new 2018 Vios in Laos and Cambodia, in Thailand the car called Yaris Ativ was introduced at the 2018 Bangkok Motor Show.

In the 2018 version, Vios has completely changed the front of the car. The front of the car is no longer designed similarly to the Camry but forms an inverted trapezoid. The fog lamp socket is swept upwards. The LED daytime lights are mounted below, no longer integrated into the light cluster.

In Laos, Toyota Vios 2018 is equipped with 1NR-FE 1.3L engine instead of 2NR-FE 1.5L engine, the new engine produces 99 horsepower at 6,000 rpm and 123 Nm torque at 4,200 rpm, combined with 5-speed manual transmission or CVT automatic transmission.
